Local MP David TC Davies has called on the Labour Welsh Government to abandon plans of wasting taxpayers’ money on creating more Senedd Members, ahead of a vote later today.
The cost of creating 36 extra Senedd Members is estimated to exceed more than £100 million.
Commenting ahead of the vote, Mr Davies said:
“Frankly, it is absolutely outrageous that the Labour Welsh Government is wasting time and over £100 million of taxpayers’ money on creating more politicians.
“Having more politicians will do nothing to tackle the huge waiting lists that my constituents are facing every single day or to create better schools.
“I hope Labour ministers will see the light and not pursue their vanity project.”
He added:
“Wales desperately needs more nurses, teachers, doctors and dentists, not more politicians.”
