As a County Councillor, I have earned a strong reputation for listening to residents, working tirelessly on their behalf, and delivering practical results for the communities of Portskewett and Monmouthshire. I believe that effective local government starts by listening to local people, understanding their concerns, and working collaboratively to find solutions that improve everyday life.
A passionate advocate for protecting vital public services, I have campaigned to safeguard social care delivered in people's own homes. I believe that older and vulnerable residents should be able to live independently, with dignity and the right support, in the communities they know and love. I am committed to ensuring that high-quality, community-based care remains a priority, recognising the enormous benefits it brings to individuals, families, and the wider health and social care system.
Strengthening communities is central to my work as a County Councillor. I am committed to supporting local organisations, encouraging volunteering, championing community initiatives, and helping to create neighbourhoods where people feel connected, safe, and supported. I believe that thriving communities are built through partnership, active local involvement, and ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to contribute and be heard.
Alongside my role in public service, i currently work as a Project Manager for an international water engineering company. My professional career has provided extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure projects, managing significant budgets, solving challenging problems, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and responsibly. And it is these areas of skill that I am able to bring into local government, applying sound financial management and a practical, solutions-focused approach to serving residents.
I am also a dedicated supporter of the armed forces community. I have a deep understanding of the sacrifices made by serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and their families, and am committed to ensuring they receive the recognition, support, and opportunities they deserve. I believe those who have served the nation should always be treated with fairness, respect, and gratitude.
Following my own diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I have become a passionate advocate for people living with the condition. I actively support the MS Society and works to raise awareness of the challenges faced by those living with neurological conditions. Drawing on my own lived experience, I fully appreciate the importance of accessible healthcare, effective social care, inclusive communities, and ensuring that people with long-term conditions can live independently and fulfil their potential.
Above all, I am committed to honest, accessible, and accountable local leadership. I have and still work hard to ensure that residents' voices are heard, public money is spent wisely, and local services are protected and improved. Through my dedication, professionalism, and commitment to stronger communities, protecting care at home, and championing those who need support, I am always looking to work for a safer, more resilient, and more prosperous future for Portskewett and the wider Monmouthshire area.
